Background: Born in Kyoto on Christmas in 1984, already showing a fondness for making big, dramatic entrances (and exits, when it came down to it). Ended up becoming a model/actress combo, building up her fame while setting the stage to take Japan by storm (and in more ways than one, as per usual when it comes to Amane Misa). Let's say you'd asked her about her life's dream when she was, say, seven - "Misa really wants to love!" she would've replied happily, speaking much too loudly into the microphone and grinning at the camera. And she's persued that dream as if it could actually get away from her - lovingand liking and hating and loving some more, running back and forth and all over the place with her split-second decisions, plethora of emotions, and killer notebook in tow. Because Love, put plainly, is in love with Death - the idea's so romantic, in its way, how they work together and apart, support and destroy each other. Death came to visit her one night, you see, and left the building with her parents in the guise of a petty burglar. He was caught, yes, but put to a trial that never came. Death, however, could not stand such an injustice (oh, it was all so ironic) and killed the man when the law refused, this time under the disguise of a concept going by Kira. What was perhaps a casual curiosity then turned into a fanatic obsession - what a beautiful person, Love Misa thought, what a wonderful man, Misa wishes she could find him - and that she did. Death presented her with yet another opportunity - a stalker killed, that murderous notebook left in his place - and she seized it, knocking on Death's Kira's door with eyes that could see death everywhere (lifespans she couldn't decipher floating below people's names, both hanging over their heads like a guilty sentence). And duly afterwards, she fell in love with him. Really, really in love with him. And she's still loving him after their meeting, here in this place, wherever and whatever it is...
Personality: She’s the sort of person that wears her heart on her sleeve, hooks it onto her possessions like a keychain, sticks the thing on clips and puts them in her hair - hell, practically throws it at people and makes sure it hits them, hard. Her life is full of the fabulous and extraordinary, partly from her own work and partly from luck (or the opposite, if you're so inclined), and she loves it. At least for now, anyway. Something or someone catches her eye and you better believe it’s going to get her full attention because with Misa, you always get it in full or absolutely nothing – extremes come naturally to the girl and she revels in them (when they’re on the postive end of the spectrum, anyway). Her life is a spectacle whether scripted or off-stage, due largely to her fiery personality and not-too-shabby acting abilities. She may act stupid, but the key word here is the verb in that sentence – she’s much more intelligent than she lets on, something that often goes unnoticed in her world of eccentric geniuses, ridiculous plots, and supernatural notebooks.A mercy, perhaps.
